The government has asked the DVLA to get information from the public on how classic cars should be...
You may have read our previous article on the five best classic car museums in the UK (if not, you can find it here) and also the follow up article that we wrote, due to not being able to limit it to just five fabulous places! (You can find that one here, too.)
From the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire, to Beaulieu National Motor Museum in Hampshire, we listed some really great places to visit first time round. For the second article, we listened to many of the comments from our lovely readers and included some of their favourites, too - some of which we hadn’t visited or necessarily heard of beforehand, so it was really great to find more brilliant places to go. We now know that Moray Motor Museum is housed in an old mill, and that the last car driven by Richard Hammond on Top Gear is kept in a special exhibition, housed within the County Classics Motor Museum in Taunton.
We had such an overwhelming response that we would now like to know all of your recommendations so that we can create a classic car museum directory for the UK for everyone to enjoy!
If you’d like to have your say, here’s a quick and easy-to-use form that you can fill in. Let us know where you recommend and why, and we’ll aim to feature your favourite UK classic car museums in our online directory, which will be coming soon. Your answers will come to us via email - we’ll read them and put the museum information you give us in the directory. They’ll be listed by county, to make it a really useful guide for all the classic car enthusiasts out there.
When you leave your comments, remember to tell us why you liked your visit so much.
What were the displays like?
Were there any special exhibits running, such as vehicles manufactured in a certain era?
Were there any exhibits dedicated to a certain film (for example, the James Bond franchise) or a certain make of car?
Do feel free to leave any tips or hints for getting the best out of the visit, as these are also useful. Details such as where best to park, any access issues, and the best activities for kids to try are always good to know. Are the attractions interactive? Was the food available any good? All of this helps others reading the information to plan ahead.
And - it seems, very importantly - was the coffee on sale decent? Priorities, priorities…
The form will be kept here, to be used at any point, so you can revisit it when you go to other places in the future and want to let us know of a new gem that you’ve found.
Thank you for your help - and we look forward to bringing you an informative and useful directory very soon!

I love this place because not only is it in a beautiful location but I love the rooms in different eras, very nostalgic and kids absolutely love this place with the added toy museum. My Boys used to always buy a toy car at the gift shop at the end. It's a small museum but crammed packed full of motoring history.
